Ramaphosa is set to begin his two-day visit to the UK – SABC News

President Cyril Ramaphosa is in London to begin his two-day state visit to the United Kingdom, where he will be hosted by King Charles III after accepting an invitation from the late Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.

Ramaphosa will be the first foreign leader to be received by the new monarch with a delegation of ministers including International Relations Minister Naledi Pandora.

Speaking to the SABC at Stansted Airport upon Ramaphosa’s arrival, Pandora outlined a number of issues the president and king will focus on during the talks.

“Our President is delighted to be able to show His Majesty the very strong cooperation that exists between South Africa and the United Kingdom and to highlight new areas of cooperation that I know His Majesty would be interested in. Areas such as the Fair Energy Plan, of which the UK is one of the partners, also in health, where our scientists have collaborated very intelligently on the options for COVID -19 and other areas of biotechnology.”
