DURBAN – Law enforcement agencies in KwaZulu-Natal say they have launched an investigation following a car crash that claimed seven lives on Sunday night.
According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, the multi-vehicle collision happened on the M35 in the Isipinga area – south of Durban.
Spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane says reports from the scene indicate a van, a lorry and several cars were involved in the accident.
“KwaZulu-Natal Transport MEC Sipho Khlomuka has expressed his condolences to all the affected families and is also calling for a speedy investigation.
“The MEC has since directed all agencies to thoroughly investigate this accident and urges motorists to drive with caution given the fact that the weather in the province appears to be changing.”
