Police Minister Bheki Chele is expected to visit the family of seven shot dead in Tanseka village in Biti in the Eastern Cape.
According to police reports, on Wednesday evening last week, three unidentified armed men barged into the compound and opened fire, killing six people. The seventh victim died in hospital.
The victims are members of the same family. The incident happened when they were arranging the funeral of a relative who was also fatally wounded.
Police spokesman Liranzu Thembo says the province’s organized crime unit is investigating the circumstances of the latest incident.
