Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is optimistic that the club will turn around soon and has urged fans to be patient as the club tries to climb up the DSTV Premier League table.
The coach says the Chiefs need to start climbing the ladder
The Chiefs find themselves in unfamiliar territory in 14th place after seven matches, having lost three, won two and drawn two.
Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khun says that with the team signing new players, it is only a matter of time before the results come to them.
It had been seven years since the Chiefs had won a major trophy, and with each passing season the fans’ patience wore thin. Coach changes and cuts didn’t help.
Zvane’s appointment as coach gave fans hope that he could turn the club’s fortunes around. Perhaps it is still too early after just seven matches in the new season. But after three league games without a win, it’s not looking good with reports that Zwane’s job could be in jeopardy.
However, Zwane is undeterred by the reports and says that as a technical team they enjoy the support of management.
The bosses have signed a number of new players and let others go during the transfer window. But both Zwane and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune believe things will fall into place once the players start piling on.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have urged their legions of fans, who are known to fill the grounds wherever they play, to buy season tickets.
Chiefs sporting director Kaiser Motaung Jnr says season tickets, which are the norm in some European leagues, will give fans more value for their money, with fans able to purchase their season tickets from Chiefs’ ticketing partners, Ticket Masters.
