The Freckles are unlikely to tinker with matchday picks against Argentina as they seek to remain in the hunt for Rugby Championship name.

With anything still up for grabs in the Rugby Championship, the Springboks now prepare for the first of two crucial games against Argentina, with the first meeting in Buenos Aires this Saturday (9.10pm midnight).

The Springboks, Australia and Argentina are all on nine points after the opening four matches of the tournament, with South Africa in second place on a huge points difference and New Zealand leading the table with 10 points.

The Springboks returned to training last Wednesday after two days off following their 24-8 win against the Wallabies in Sydney.

Any thoughts of possible experimentation with player selection appear to have been put to the backburner and the Bok side will now go all out to try and find success in the Rugby Championship.

The likes of Lucagno Am, Handre Pollard, Bongi Mbanambi and Cheslin Kolbe are still out through injury, but it will be interesting to see if Peter-Steph du Toit can be available for selection.

Elry Luw is expected to be included on the bench and will provide cover on the second line and in the loose three.

In the backs, Kanan Moody will get another big opportunity after impressing on debut against Australia last time out, while Damian Willems will once again play a key role at flyhalf.

In the end, I’d expect the Boks to stick with the same team that beat the Wallabies to secure a rare win in Australia.

Coach Jacques Ninaber will name his 23-man squad Tuesday, September 13 in 17:00 (SA time).

The day before it was done by a South African website Craig Lewis and Garrin Lambley have chosen the starting XV they believe the Springboks brain trust will read.

As always, the best place to stay tuned ALIVE is on the South African website.
