Kaizer Chiefs Sports director Kaiser Motaung Jr revealed the reason for the attraction David Mathebula back to Naturena.

Mathebula has returned to Amakhosi as coach of the U19 team and assistant to the Diski Challenge team, where he will work alongside Vela Khumalo.

The man known as “DVD‘ reunited with former teammates Jimmy Jumbo, Arthur Zwan, Aubrey Matiba and Gerald Sibeka at Chiefs.

Mathebula returns as a qualified coach with experience in coaching groups Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and Marumo Gallants.

Now, according to Motaunga Jnr, Chiefs have decided to bring back Matebula because he understands the club’s philosophy inside out.

The 39-year-old wore the famous black and gold jersey for six years between 2004 and 2010 before being loaned out to the then Mpumalanga Black Aces.
