Sportswear brand Puma is expanding its presence in Mzansi by partnering with Cotton Fest FC

PUMA and the Cotton Fest team recently announced the launch of the new PUMA x Cotton Fest FC collection, which will be released next Thursday, September 22nd.

As part of the deal, the global sports brand will supply sportswear and merchandise to top-tier fashion companies.

Developed in collaboration with fashion savvy rapper Ricky Rick and inspired by the athletic aspect of the University of Cotton Fest theme, the collection’s DNA is rooted in the iconic and revered fashion statement football jerseys of the 90s.

The collection includes the T7 tracksuit top, football shorts, football top and footballs designed by the late Ricky Rick himself.

“We are very honored to be able to bring Riky’s latest collection to the market. As with everything Ricky did, he was aware of this collection and its Cotton Fest FC aesthetic.” said Hayden Manuel, PUMA South Africa Sportstyle Marketing Manager.

As part of the launch, PUMA provided a 100,000 rand bursary for final year AFDA students to cover the fee shortfall and help them complete their studies. “The arts were close to Ricky’s heart and he was a former AFDA student, so we and Ricky’s family agreed that supporting the students would be a fitting way to honor his legacy.” – said Manuel.

The capsule collection is supported by an exciting marketing campaign featuring Ricky’s wife Bianca, children Mike and Jordan, his brothers Themba, Toby and Sheikani, and the rest of the Cotton Fest family.

“Building on Ricky’s legacy of building a platform for young creators, our family is fully supportive of the campaign, especially in regards to the scholarship and giving back to students. We are also thrilled that the range is finally alive and ready to go to market.” stated Bianca Naidoo.

The PUMA Cotton Fest FC collection will be available at most outlets from next week.

Gauteng: Menlyn, Braamfontein Select, Eastgate, Fourways, Mall of Africa, Sandton
