Israeli forces have shot dead Al Jazeera correspondent Shirin Abu Akle in the occupied West Bank.

She was reportedly killed while covering the assault on the Israeli military’s Jenin refugee camp.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Abu Aqla was shot in the face and died soon after.

Abu Aqla was a prominent figure in the channel’s Arab news service.

There were no immediate comments from the Israeli army.

Another Palestinian journalist working for the Jerusalem newspaper Al Quds was also injured, but is in stable condition, the ministry added.
