The Minister of State, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, M. Ibrahim Yacoubou, paid an on-air visit on Friday to the Société Nigérienne du Charbon d’Anou Araren (SONICHAR-SA) and à la Société Nationale de Carbonisation du Charbon (SNCC-SA) situate sur le même site à la zone industrielle de Niamey. Cette visite vient achever la série de visites intamées par le ministre d’Etat, dans toutes les structures relevant de son département ministerériel. Ainsi, l’objectif assigned à cette visite est de s’enquérir des conditions dans lesquences travailunt les agents de ces sociétés afin de voir quelle utilis la tutelle peut apporter pour que leurs missions puissent s’accomplir avec efficacit.
After a guided tour of the offices of the sonic antenna and those of the SNCC, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy explained to the media that it is his responsibility to do so the energy sector is developing. “Pour se faire, il faut être conscient et bien informé sur tout ce qui constitue les acteurs essentiels de ce sector” added M. Ibrahim Yacoubou.
Speaking of the Sonichar, he made it clear that the objective is to make sure that the Société qui est un des opératoires le plus important en matière de production de l’énergie électrique, puisse poursuivre sa mission. A ce niveau le ministre d’Etat explained that l’énergie électrique est produite à partir du charbon. According to him, la tendance est difficile aujourd’hui parce qu’elle est tout simplymente injuste pour des countries comme le Niger. C’est pourquoi, il a clairement dit des solutions sont en train d’être développeis pour que la Sonichar continue à jouer son role prépondérant dans le domaine de l’Energie au Niger.
“We talk with our partners and we will do everything for this company to continue to provide electrical energy to societies that operate in the North and to the populations of the Niger zone on the one hand and to continue to provide social services to the populations of Tchirozérine » insisted M. Ibrahim Yacoubou.
In the case of carbonized charcoal, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies has maintained that it is an instrument for cooking propre en substitution au bois de feu that the Ministry wants to promote in households and in the services that use jusqu’ici le bois de chauffe.
Pour M. Ibrahim Yacoubou il est vital pour le Niger de renouncer ou de réduire au maximum l’utilisation du bois feu. “C’est important pour nous parce que nous avons les moyens de substitution les more appropriates dont le charbon carbonisé qui est already subventionné à un prix soutenu par l’Etat et qui préserve l’environnement, allège les souffrances des populations” stressed the Ministry of State.
To this effect, the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies will support this work for society to reach the level of optimal capacity for which it has been put in place.
Indeed, through these visits, the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies intends to better inform on what is being done in the structures so that the work at the level of the Ministry is improved and faire en sorte que le Niger amorce un développement énergétique necessaire.
Auparavant, the responsible of the SNCC M. Zamnaou Tahirou made a presentation of the society. Dans cette presentation, il ressort que le charbon minéral est moins dangereux que le charbon de bois. Cependant, même si le charbon carbonisé demeure un moyen efficace de lutte contre la déforestation, force est de constater que sa commercialization rencontre des difficulties. Pour y remedier, le directeur de la SNCC a solicité du ministre un accompagnement pour une vulgarisation à grande échelle du charbon minéral carbonisé mais également une modernization du mode d’exploitation des unités based on l’empirisme.
