KAIZER CHIEFS DOESN’T HAVE A RIGHT NINE

As we all understand, Amakhosi have produced two traditional centre-forwards Samir Nurkovich and Leonardo Castro before the beginning of this term.

The Glamor Boys have since remained with what you can only call “forwards”. Du Preez, Khama Billiat and young sensation Mduduzi Shabalala get into the box to score, but it’s not in their nature to stay there and fight for the ball with their physicality.

FALLS AND SOMETIMES FOLLOWERS ON NATURENA

After the start of the preseason, none of us really saw what was coming. Amakhosi invited no fewer than four different nines before coach Zwane and his assistant Dylan Sheppard turned them all down.

The list includes Wade Lekai, Fouad Johnson, Bonfils-Caleb Bimen’imana and Darren Smith.

So are there no solutions around Mzansi and the continent? Like. Coach Zwane told the media in early August that they were looking everywhere and are still looking.

Since then we have been looking for three centre-forwards who played in Europe last season before becoming free agents.

These options below may not be anywhere close to what Zwane wants, but hey, they’re worth considering. Who knows if Zvane will read this and make the necessary calls?

  • Last season’s numbers: Five goals, one assist in 10 games
  • Last team: NEC Nijmegen (Netherlands).

Will Amakhosi make a move in place of one of the experienced forwards above or find options with similar profiles? We will see in the coming days.
