Twitter users condemned Senz Meyiwa’s friend Thumel Madlala, who was present at the house the night the soccer star was murdered, giving evidence in the North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday 13 September.
TUMELA TESTIFIES AT THE TRIAL OF SENZO MEIIV
The trial into the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa was adjourned on Tuesday 13 September as state witness Thumela Madlala became emotional on the stand.
Senzo is said to have been shot dead during an armed robbery at the home of his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s mother in Voslurus on October 26, 2014. Tumelo was one of the people in the house the night Senza was killed. So who else was there?

Tumelo testified in court on Tuesday 13 September. He told his side of the story, claiming that Longwe pushed the intruder and fled while Kelly hid in a room. Tumelo continued to claim that he punched the attacker in the face.
“In the blink of an eye, Longwe Twala pushed the armed intruder and ran out of the house. While Longwe was gone, Kelly ran to another room and hid there. While I got up, I saw another guy in the kitchen (the second attacker) and Senzo was holding his arm, pinning him against the wall,” he said.
“My intention was to get out of the house and when I was there (with Senzo) I also punched the attacker on the left side of the face and the shot rang out. Then I ran to the bedroom to hide there, there were a lot of clothes on the bed and I hid my phone there. I also looked around trying to find a window to escape, but I couldn’t because they had bars,” he continued.

“Tumela is evil. I don’t care what anyone says,” wrote Mogoshadi_.
“Thus, Tumelo’s infatuation was used to fight off the three intruders while Tumelo ran around the house looking for a place to hide. Longwe on the other hand was pushing the attacker so he could go outside for a rest 🤷🏻♀️ Let me say with confidence that Tumela didn’t say anything today,” wrote @siziba_bongani.
“When our parents told us to choose our friends wisely, they meant guys like Tumela Madlala,” wrote @hauza_.
