Without saying whether Ntanzi was the man who pulled the trigger, Madlala says the 32-year-old man from Freedom Park in Phokeng, Rustenburg, was the man whose arm was grabbed by Meyiwa as he pinned him against the wall in the kitchen.
“And a person you have seen before, if you meet that person again, it will not be difficult to recognize him. And I won’t lie about the man. Even this person knows,” says Madlala.

According to Madlala, Longwe Twala, Zandi Khumalo’s boyfriend at the time, got up and pushed the man on the way out, while Kelly Khumalo ran into one of the bedrooms.
He says there was a second man, tall and slim, who Meyiwa attacked, pinning the man against a wall, while Kelly, Zandi and Gladness Humala (the landlady and Kelly’s mother) attacked the other attacker. with his crutches.
Madlala says he stood up and punched the assailant, who Meyiwa was holding against a wall, before the gunshot rang out. He says that’s when he ran into one of the bedrooms and found Meyiwa lying on the floor with a bullet wound to the chest.
