The ANC’s North West Province national executive convener, Abed Bapela, says the party’s national leadership is unfazed by yet another injunction handed down by a group of aggrieved members.
These members obtained an injunction from the North West High Court against members of the ANC Provincial Provisional Committee who voted at the provincial conference.
The group that issued the ban issued an ultimatum to ANC treasurer-general Paul Mashatila to respond to their demands. They want Mashatile to explain his understanding of the court’s decision on Friday night.
The group intends to make another application to ban the current provincial conference in Rostenburg. Bapela says they are not worried.
Bapela adds that “it is not a concern for us yet, it is the intention that is there. This does not prevent the conference from starting.”
