The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is forecasting extremely high fire danger conditions for parts of the Northern Cape, Free State, North West, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

The weather service also warned of heat from Tuesday, which will continue until Thursday.

Weather forecast for Tuesday

Gauteng: Nice and hot. In the afternoon it will be partly cloudy.

Mpumalanga: Partly cloudy and hot with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the central and eastern Highveld in the afternoon.

Limpopo: Partly cloudy, hot, in the afternoon in the south in places short-term rains and thunderstorms.

Northwest: In the afternoon, it will be partly cloudy in the east.

Free State: It will be warm in the south, partly cloudy and hot in the extreme east, thunderstorms will occur in places.

Northern Cape: Partly cloudy in the morning, fog in some places, hot in the north and northeast.

Western Cape: Cloudy or partly cloudy, otherwise fine, cool to warm. The wind on the coast will be moderate to fresh.

Western half of the Eastern Cape Province: Partly cloudy and cool south of the escarpment, lightening
morning rain along the coast. The wind on the coast will be moderate.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy, cool, light rain. The wind on the coast will be moderate.

KwaZulu-Natal: Fog in the interior in the morning, cloudy and cool in other places. Separate rains and thunderstorms are expected.
