The East London Supreme Court has rejected with costs an urgent statement seeking to disqualify some delegates from the Dr WB Rubusana branch of the region from attending the ANC provincial conference in East London.

The application was submitted by a member of the region Ondela Sakaman. Sakamani’s legal group has argued that about 30 branches are not eligible to vote at the conference, as the region is awaiting a court ruling on charges of membership manipulation that took place at general meetings of branches in the region. Judge Justin Laing said there was no urgency in the matter, and the statement was made hastily.
