The Central Firearms Registry (CFR) has revoked a woman’s competence and weapons license from the Eastern Cape because in her photo she was wearing a hijab that covered her hair but not her face. Rushda Desai said she is discriminated against as a woman and for her religion. “I applied for a firearm in June 2020 and received a certificate of competency in October of that year,” she said.
