Five members of a family died in a horrific crash on the N2 highway near Glentona in the Western Cape on Sunday night.

The only survivor was the sixth passenger of the Ford Ecosport, a 12-year-old boy. George Herald reports.

He is currently being treated for his injuries at a hospital in Georgia. The extent of his injuries is still unknown.

Four adults and one child died at the scene. Algoa FM informed.

Police spokesman Sergeant Larian Botha said about it George Herald the driver of the other car involved in the accident was also hospitalized.

Botha said the accident happened around 10:00 p.m.

She said the circumstances of the incident were still under investigation, but could not provide further details.

The surviving boy’s family traveled from the Cape to support him, Botha said.
