The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing on the French Riviera.

But while films are celebrated for their artistic expression, fashion is on the red carpet.

The festival is open only by invitation from 17 to 28 May.

CANNES FILM FEST: WHAT IS A DRESS CODE?

Like the location, the Cannes Film Festival is a luxury, a wealth and an exclusivity.

Naturally, the dress code is elegance and sophistication.

While daytime sessions require a smart everyday look, evening ones are strictly black. According to their policy, all distinguished guests on the red carpet should be in evening dresses and high heels. For men, tuxedos and fitted suits are a must.

But not everyone played by the unspoken old-fashioned rules of Cannes. In 2018, actress Kristen Stewart sadly dropped her heels and walked the red carpet with them in her hands, and in 2016 Julia Roberts appeared on the red carpet completely barefoot.

TURNY DRESSES

But even though walking barefoot is one thing, showing too much skin is also unpleasant.
