A FC Swallows. the veteran defender continues to be linked with a possible move to rivals Orlando Piratesand a coach Dylan Kerr now weighed.

Wandisile Letlabika he is the player in question and his absence from the Swallows’ 1-0 defeat to Pirates in the season opener fueled speculation.

However, Kerr said it was a decision by the technical team to protect Letlabika as rumors of him leaving them for Pirates were still fresh.

Letlabika will be in the Swallows squad for the match against Cape Town City and came off the bench in his first match of the campaign.

Kerr has now revealed that Letlabika remains part of the technical team’s plans and that he still belongs at Swallows.

The 33-year-old defender has been with the Swallows since the start of the 2020-21 season and has become a stalwart for the Dube Birds over the past two seasons.

“Obviously there have been rumors of him joining the Pirates, so we decided to rest him and protect him for this match,” Kerr tells KickOff.

“Letlabika is part of our plans for this season. Letlabika is a Swallows player as we speak,” he added.
