The four suspects arrested in the murder of an adviser to the African National Congress (ANC) and the party’s subregional secretary in the local municipality of Magaloquena in Limpopo will begin a motion for bail in the Macapana Magistrates’ Court later Monday.

ANC council Valtin Kekana and Ralph Kanyane were killed while sitting in their car in Macapan in July 2019 as a result of an incident that is believed to have been politically motivated.

Four suspects have been in custody since their arrest last week.

Two are charged with two counts of murder and one of conspiracy to commit murder. One suspect was charged with two additional charges of possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, as well as two counts of murder and one charge of conspiracy to kill.
