Bafana Bafana midfielder Sphefela Sitola opened due to the loss of the opportunity to play for the French League 1 club LOSC Lille.
Sitole, who currently plays for the Portuguese club Belenensesmade him older National team of South Africa debut in June vs Morocco.

Speaking to Kickoff, Sithole admitted that the French club had shown interest.

“It’s true, yes” Sithole told Kickoff.
“They spoke to me and my agent and expressed an interest in my services. But I don’t know what happened, and while the negotiations were going on, Belenenses made an offer and I accepted.
“These things happen in football.”
