Basotho Convention Party leader Nkaku Kabi has called on people from Lesotho and South Africa to work together to arrest suspects linked to a shooting at a Soweto tavern in July.

Nkaku Kabi’s interview below:

Fifteen people were shot by unknown people. Those involved in the incident are said to be in Lesotho and Kabi says they should be brought back to South Africa to face the force of the law.

The death toll from the shooting at Mdlalose Tavern in Nomzama informal settlement in Saweta has risen to 15:

Some of those wanted in South Africa are members of Lesotho’s ABC party. In an exclusive interview with SABC News, Nkaku says his party does not support crime and that people should respect the laws of the countries where they are.

“We just want the South African government through the SAPS and all the relevant departments and Lesotho counterparts to look into this so that whoever was involved in this kind of activity will face the law. I think we have intelligence in South Africa and Lesotho, they know a lot better than we could possibly know. The issue of weapons, we have to stand up and make sure that these countries can be governed,” adds Nkaku.

The Lesotho government is investigating allegations that Basotho citizens committed crimes in South Africa:
