The One Club for Creativity and The 3% Movement have announced five creatives from the Middle East and Africa as part of the inaugural Global Jury for the Next Creative Leaders 2022 competition.
Now in its eighth year, The Next Creative Leader (NCL) is a free portfolio competition that identifies, celebrates and gives a global platform to talented women and non-binary creatives who are making a mark on the world through both their work and a unique perspective on creativity. leadership that changes the industry for the better.
NCL 2022 referees from the region:
- Shadi Al Khroub, Founder and CEO, Menamonsters, Muscat, Oman
- Rana Khoury, ECD, Lea Burnett Beirut
- Teresa Nyamaramba Makori, ACD, Isobar – Dentsu Kenya, Nairobi
- Hyun So Yoo, Creative Strategist, TikTok, Dubai
- Grant Sithole, Product Director, Publicis Groupe Africa, Johannesburg
The initial list of judges from 17 countries can be viewed here, with additional jury members to be announced shortly.
Eligible NCL members are those in leadership positions, including copywriters, art directors, designers, ACDs, newly minted creative directors and design directors who have been in the role for less than one year, and creative teams performing indigenous work.
Along with naming 10 global winners based on the highest scores, the competition also recognizes regional winners in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East/Africa and North America. A list of all previous NCL winners can be viewed here.
Applications that highlight the candidate’s creativity, leadership, and unique perspective should be submitted by August 26, 2022. There is no entry fee.
Entrants are judged on four to six pieces of creative work and information on how they—and their work—are moving the industry forward and making a positive contribution in terms of diversity, mentorship and advocacy. Winners will be announced in the fall of 2022.
Each NCL winner receives a free one-year individual membership to The One Club, with the opportunity to judge future One Club awards, as well as free tickets to the One Club Professional Development Conference (valued at over $1,000), panel discussions and mentoring events.
Winners also receive their work on The One Club website, promotion on The 3% Movement and The One Club social channels, and potential speaking opportunities. The 10 global winners will also receive a special article about them on The One Club website.
