The 48-year-old retired Road Runner said he is delighted with the Road Running standard in Msansi and believes they will quickly close the gap between the country and East African runners.

The veteran runner believes that in the 2023 athletics season, local runners will have more opportunities to show their God-given talents on the road.
Due to the fact that next year Latvia will host the World Athletics Championships, Skosana said that the ASA plans to hold a race for time for athletes to qualify for competitions in Latvia.
“I believe that in 2023 we will have an exciting road, especially if we are preparing for the half marathon and the World Championships, because they are also adding a 5 km championship so that we can also have on board those guys who run 1500-3000 km. , running down the road. I am very glad that the World Athletics Championships have introduced 5 km, ”added Skosana excitedly.
The former SA road runner said he is counting on the experience of Gerda Stein and Stephen Mocock to come to the fore at major championships. The couple will decide whether to participate in the World Cup or the Commonwealth Games as the two events are close to each other.
He also advised athletes not to overdo it and choose races carefully to avoid fatigue and too early.
