The South African Medical Association (SAMA) says people need to be cautious with COVID-19 as infection rates rise across the country.
The latest coronavirus report in November shows more than 8,000 active cases.
As of November 16, the growing number of #Covid-19 of cases detected in SA is 4,034,234 of 2,938 new cases. 24 deaths were reported, bringing the total to 102,395 deaths. The total number of recoveries now stands at 3,923,661 with a recovery rate of 97.3% pic.twitter.com/SbM5FQiOYi

SAMA also says many people are mistaking the common flu for COVID-19 and vice versa.
The upcoming holiday season is the first in two years without coronavirus security.
SAMA chairman Mwuisi Mzukwa warned against complacency.
“Covid-19 is still with us. Studies that have been carried out in the sanitation sector in megacities continue to show that the number of infected people is high. So there are still cases of COVID-19 and the virus still exists. So it’s really important that people remember that even though it seems like we’re at the end of the pandemic, we’re still out there, not out of the woods yet.”
