The South African Communist Party (SACP) is celebrating its one hundred and first anniversary at the KaNyamazane Stadium east of Mbambela in Mpumalanga.

Party Secretary General Solly Mapaila is expected to deliver the keynote address. SACP national organizer Mhlekwa Nxumalo says Mapila will outline the outcome of the party’s congress held in Boksburg recently.

Nxumala says socio-economic issues facing South Africans will dominate Mapaila’s address.

“There are a number of issues facing the working class, there are a number of issues facing our organisation, movement and party. The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), society as a whole and this celebration is an important platform for us to be able to explain or outline the results of the congress in terms of how we will talk about the issues, the working class and society generally face, but most importantly about how to rebuild the structures of the movement, “added Nxumalo.
