South Africa’s women’s rugby team convincingly defeated Spain 44-5 in the first of two Test matches at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg this afternoon.

Women’s Boxing uses the series as part of their preparation for the World Cup, with the tournament taking place in New Zealand in October and November.

Ayanda Malinga scored two tries while Sinamkele Namba, Roselyn Botes and Nadine Roos scored the other tries.

Spain finally got on the scoreboard with a try to make the final score 44-5.

The second test will be played next week on Friday in Potchefstroom.
