The National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NICD) reported 8,351 new cases of COVID-19, resulting in a total of 3,879,434 laboratory-confirmed infections.

This increase is 22.5% positivity.

Today, the NDoH reported 114 deaths, and of those three deaths occurred in the last 24-48 hours.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 to date is 100,744 people.

NDoH reports that the Northwest reported 92 retrospective deaths today due to data cleansing, while Free State reported 11 retrospective deaths today.

Some of the retrospective deaths have only recently merged with the general list of cases due to incorrect names and surnames that have been recorded in the DATCOV system.

About 24,841,314 tests were conducted in both the public and private sectors.
