In celebration of Heritage Month, the US Mission in South Africa hosted American multimedia artist Bayette Ross Smith, who traveled the country speaking with local residents on a variety of thought-provoking topics.

Hailing from Harlem, New York, Ross Smith is an acclaimed photographer, filmmaker, and educator whose work often captures the most intriguing aspects of society.

During his trip, he got the chance to visit different parts of Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

Speaking to Lotus FM Newsbreak, Bayette says that despite what people may assume, the United States and South Africa share a number of shared values ​​and similarities.
