The Ukrainian crisis caught attention on Friday in Cannes, when a half-naked protester, painted blue and yellow, was expelled from the red carpet.
An unidentified woman tore off her dress, showing the colors of the Ukrainian flag, the inscription “STOP US RAPE” on her belly and red handprints on her buttocks.
The woman shouted, and security officers quickly wrapped her in a jacket, removing her from the event. The guests looked embarrassed, and festival music was played.
A brief protest took place at the world premiere of “Three Thousand Years of Anxiety,” where stars Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton were to come and walk the famous steps of the Palace of Festivals.
