DURBAN – Despite condemnation from the traditional Prime Minister of the Zulu nation, the traditional coronation of Prince Simakade Zulu is going ahead.

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi warned that the event was illegal because the King of Misuzulu was already on the throne.

However, late King Amazulu Goodwill Zwelitini Kabhekuzulu’s first born is set to enthrone the King at the Enyokeni Royal Palace on Saturday.

It signifies the traditional coronation of a king.

Prince Shimakade’s coronation will take place just one week before the coronation of his brother, King Misuzulu.

Earlier this year, the King of Missuzulu was recognized by the government as the rightful heir to the Zulu throne.

The event will take place at the Enyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma, despite Buthelezi calling it pointless.

It seems that the Prime Minister’s traditional condemnation of Prince Shimakade’s entry into the Kraal was not heard.

Buthelezi, meanwhile, called for “calm” in the face of what he called a “stupid provocation”.

King Missuzulu’s coronation ceremony is scheduled for next weekend at KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace.

The coronation will be followed by an official event organized by the government, the date of which has not yet been announced.
