Tributes and prayers are pouring in for American actress Ann Hecht and her family on social media after it was announced on Thursday (August 11) that she was “not expected to survive”.

FAMILY ANNOUNCE ANN HATCH DEAD

According to the Daily Mail, the 53-year-old actress has been officially pronounced dead and will be taken off life support after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car crash in Los Angeles last week on Friday.

In a statement released by her family on Thursday, it was revealed that Ann Hech had suffered a severe chronic anoxic brain injury that left her brain with a prolonged lack of oxygen.

“Unfortunately, as a result of the accident, Anne suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and is in a coma in critical condition,” the family said in a statement.

“She is not expected to survive.”

A representative for the actress said Heche is on life support to “determine if her organs are viable.”

TRIBUTES AND PRAYERS

Tributes and prayers poured in after the announcement.

“Just reading now that actor Anne Hech has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury after a horrific car accident and expect her not to survive. So very sad. Her 13 year old will be devastated. My heart goes out to her family, friends and loved ones,” Ricky Davila wrote.

“The news about Ann Hech is heartbreaking. Her poor boys,” Gellert Depp wrote.

“I met 21-year-old Anne Hech at my first Soap Opera Digest Awards. We were involved in some drama that she wasn’t ready for, but she came through like a champ. That’s all I can say about it, but I’ll never forget how great she was. I wish she had a better life,” writes Michel Val Jean Bold and handsome wrote.

DRUGS FOUND IN AN HASH’S SYSTEM

News of Heche’s serious brain damage comes after the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) revealed that preliminary blood tests showed the presence of drugs in Ann’s system when her Mini Cooper crashed into a two-story home last week.

Earlier reports claimed that Anne was under the influence of alcohol, but it turned out that she was under the influence of cocaine.

LAPD spokesman Matthew Cruz confirmed the crash is being investigated as a felony DUI.

“This case is still an active and ongoing investigation and additional evidence is currently being gathered; include final toxicology results and medical records of both parties.

“Investigating detectives intend to turn this case over to the appropriate prosecutor’s office: the Los Angeles County District Attorney or the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office after all relevant evidence has been gathered,” LAPD said.

As a result of preliminary toxicology results, social media users have dragged several celebrities who posted messages on social media platforms hours after Heche’s fiery car crash.

Roseanne Arquette and Alec Baldwin are the two celebrities who received the most reactions on social media when asked for prayers and good thoughts for Heche’s recovery.
