Pizzo Massimane recently made it clear that he has no intention of rushing into another coaching job after leaving Al Ahly. Despite having just signed a new two-year contract with the Egyptian giants, the veteran coach has dramatically requested permission to leave following meetings last month.
Mosimane had an illustrious coaching career at Mamelodi Sundowns and was involved as caretaker manager for seven games in 2007. He joined Al Ahly in a high-profile move and won several titles in Egypt before opting out of his new contract early. , but despite this influence abroad, it is clear that Mosimane was never in line for a return to the top job at Bafana.

After the recent CAF Champions League final, AFCON winner Aliou Cisse and Massimane were given a CAF Pro license in Morocco, with the Senegal coach apparently expressing surprise that his South African counterpart is not in charge of the national team.
“I just received my professional license from the Moroccan Federation by invitation, can you believe it? This is the first thing that has been done in Africa and hopefully my country can follow,” Masiman said TheCMShow radio 702as quoted iDiski Times.
“Coaches here ask me, even Aliou Cisse, he asked me, ‘Why don’t you coach South Africa?’ They look at my country as it is, for them they look at South Africa, we are the first on the continent and all that.
“I said, ‘I was there and they fired me, they said they knew more than me. Guys were like, “Are you serious? If you are in charge of the continent as one of the best coaches here on the continent and things are not going well for South Africa, who is coaching them?’
“I then said that the situation is different. To be honest, I feel that I am more appreciated abroad than in my own country.”

Massiman is also said to be wanted in Iraq and is one of three coaches shortlisted for the top national post, according to reports from that part of the world.

Interestingly, Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe recently gave his strong backing to Masimane to coach Bafana Bafana again.
“I wish Pizza Mosimane could coach Bafana Bafana. He is my favorite coach and I love him. He will always have a special place in my heart and I even get a subsidy from the Motsepe Foundation for his salary. I think it’s quality, and quality shouldn’t come cheap,” said Motsepe.
