PEARL TOOZY AND OTHERS CRY ‘CRUEL’ GOVERNMENT
On Thursday, September 22, Nozuko MaRadebe Habe shared a Facebook message about Vusi Tanda asking for a donation of just 10 rand to him.
She signed the post: “His life is not easy, sometimes he needs to be treated in a clinic. I will ask him to make a video with his account number to avoid fraud.’
In the accompanying clip, Vusi Tanda holds up his Capitec bank card, which shows his account number.
And it must be said that South Africans were heartbroken to see one of their favorite TV stars “begging” for money.
Celebrities joined the conversation.
Actress and media personality Pearl Tucci posted a photo of the star on her social networks. She captioned it: “This is so heartwarming. Artists who have inspired and entertained us for years are now on their knees begging for help. Please, let’s help.”
She added: “It’s cruel that the SABC continues to undermine artists who continue to make money and what’s worse is that artists can’t come together and fight this because we’re so divided… things need to change.”
