CAPE TOWN – Public defender Busicive Mhwebane will soon have to prove that she is capable of doing her job.

On Friday, the Constitutional Court rejected her latest attempt to stop an investigation into her suitability to hold office.

Mhwebane asked the court to overturn his previous decision, which approved the rules of the long-awaited investigation.

In its decision, the Supreme Court stated that it found no grounds for her statement.

The move essentially means parliament can continue to investigate her suitability for office.
