The Northern Cape Department of Education says it is ready to hold mid-year matrix exams in 2022 from next week. It is expected that more than three thousand candidates will take the exam for the high school diploma.

A spokesman for the province’s education department, Jeffrey van der Merwe, says the first subject for the exams will be English.

“A total of 5,562 candidates are registered as candidates for distance learning to take the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, while 3,149 are registered for the Senior Certificate Certificate exams. The department has identified 101 schools to be used as examination centers. The labeling of the response scenarios will start from July 2 to 12, 2022, and the publication of the results is scheduled for August 3, 2022, ”says van der Merwe.
