Management of strategic direction

Board members represent a variety of sectors and hold leadership or management positions, and nominees were selected for their alignment with MMA’s mission and for their active involvement and contribution to the South African marketing industry.

As board members, they will draw on their experience and understanding of the industry to guide the strategic direction of MMA SA during their two-year tenure. They will direct the organization’s focus to production goals and take on a number of initiatives in the country aimed at strengthening and integrating the marketing industry

Global MMA programs and research

The board will ensure that relevant global MMA programs and research studies are used locally to benefit and help marketers make better business decisions.

Projects that will be managed by the council this year include data development, brand as a performance research initiative, the foundations of growth marketing, the emergence of Web 3 – the marketer’s guide and finally the establishment of Africa’s most authoritative case study center for digital companies, highlighting innovation and describing company effectiveness despite their business impact, as reported in Warc & MMA’s annual partnership for the Business Impact Index (BII), Smarties is the first and only global mobile marketing index that identifies, ranks and rewards the best agencies.

“We are very excited to partner with the talented group of people who make up our new board of directors. To understand the pain points and challenges facing marketers today puts MMA SA in a strong position to lead the industry, how to adapt to new technologies, face the minefield of data and most importantly, establish consistency in how we measure and linking marketing spend to a successful business outcome,” says Sarah Uttermark of MMA.
