Willington Ngwepe

MTN Group has has announced the appointment of Icasa’s outgoing CEO, Willington Ngwepe, as Chief of Staff in the office of Group CEO Ralph Mupita.

TechCentral reported last week that Ngwepe will step down as CEO of Icasa on October 15 after five years in the role (and just eight at the regulator). However, he will now leave the regulator no later than the end of August by mutual agreement with the regulator.

“Willington brings with him extensive leadership, technology and regulatory experience that will be invaluable as we deliver on our strategic intent to create leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress,” Mupita said in a statement.

“We welcome him to the MTN Group where he will focus on providing advisory, strategic and operational support on specific issues that are directed directly from the Group CEO’s office.” — © 2022 NewsCentral Media
