The children, 11-year-old Lizalise, 9-year-old Inganti, 5-year-old Otaliwe and 2-year-old Elikhle, were allegedly beaten to death by their 32-year-old mother.

Terrible murders shocked the residents of Tsalaba village.

11-year-old Lisaliz went to Gulandod secondary school. She was a popular child and did well in school. “Lysalise is a very calm person with a very even voice. She was a very smart student, so my class was good because of her,” he says.

Dr AB Shuma Municipality Mayor Siyabulela Zanka says they will be running campaigns to help vulnerable youths. “We need to point out that we are rolling out awareness programs in all wards, especially for vulnerable women. We emphasize that people suffering from depression should have a platform to raise these issues.”
