Kaizer Chiefs are said to be in intense pursuit of the striker and the club are understood to need at least two more additions to their attacking squad. Amakhosi currently have Ashley Du Preez as their striker. He was signed by FC Stellenbosch FC in June.

Du Preez was, however, unavailable for Chiefs’ game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday due to injury. “His absence has been felt by the team and they understand that they need to have cover in that position.

“Can you imagine if one between Hama (Billiatt) and (Keegan) Dolly is unavailable?” the source said.

Head coach Artur Zwane plays Dolly and Billie as forwards alongside Du Preez and his team is very weak in that department. It was reported that the leaders recalled one of the strikers who had been tried earlier. Burundian international Bonfis-Caleb Bimenyimana is one reported to be heading to Naturena and could be unveiled this week.

Former TS Galaxy striker Wade Lekay was also on trial by the bosses, but he failed to impress Zwane and his technical team.
