Motaung and company have just dropped a bombshell – they have revealed a new ‘home’ stadium that will surprise Amakhosi fans.
So is this the end of watching bosses run out of the FNB tunnel?

In short, no, Amakhosi is not leaving FNB Stadium.
However, they have announced an unexpected backup spot – Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The eThekwini main stadium will be used as Amakhosi’s alternative home stadium if they need it.

There was speculation that Amakhosi would return to Mangaung Stadium in Bloemfontein. This was not to happen after Motaung confirmed Amakhosi’s alternative ‘home seat’. If for any reason Amakhosi is unable to host a game on FNB Stadium they will use Moses Mabhida.
“We are very excited to be back in our second home after such a long absence,” Motaung stated further Phakaaati.

Amakhosi supporters are encouraged to turn out in their numbers to support Chiefs when they play in Durban.
“We encourage all our fans to come out in large numbers and recreate the incredible atmosphere we experience every time we play a home game at Moses Mabhida. Buy your tickets early and we’ll see youMotaung added.

It’s a personal one for Amakhosi this weekend as they take on the fight Richards Bay in Moses Mabhida on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
This is because Natal Rich Boy Boyz eliminated chiefs from St Nedbank Cup two years ago. The Amakhosi are also desperate for a win, having lost two of their three opening matches this year DStv Premier League.
