Juventus great and Ballon d’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro has questioned the decision to re-sign Paul Pogba. The former Manchester United star ended his second spell at Old Trafford by returning to Turin on a free transfer after his contract expired this summer.
Cannavaro is worried about Pogba, claiming: “As a footballer, Paul Pogba really moved me. But in the last years of his life at Manchester United, he was unrecognizable.
“The over-handling of him with his hair and image makes me suspect that he feels he has arrived.
“And if a football player thinks like that, you can’t compete at the top, 100 percent. But I am
I am convinced that he wants revenge in his second life in Italy.
Pogba is known for taking pride in his hair, having flown 1,500 miles with Surrey-based A Star Barbers to get his famous hairstyle done while playing for France in 2018.
Pogba is featured in a video posted on A Star’s Instagram account, in which the Manchester United star says: “The man came all the way from London to see his brother and make him fresh.”
The midfielder also shared a photo of his ‘Pogflash’ style in 2018. A fresh trim revealed a zipper shaved on the left side of his head.
In his first appearance in Italy, Pogba scored 34 goals in 178 appearances, winning the Scudetto four times and the Coppa Italia twice.
He is yet to feature in a competition since returning to Turin, however, after injuring his meniscus during Juve’s tour of the US, and it is unclear how long Pogba will be out.
He will be hoping to get back on the pitch soon after a difficult few years at United, which have seen a number of injury-plagued seasons as well as a string of poor performances which have seen his relationship with the fan fizzle out.
