Africa Oil Week (https://Africa-OilWeek.com) is proud to announce that Hon. Aissatou Sophie Gladima from the Republic of Senegal is set to participate in the African Petroleum Week. The Minister of Oil and Energy of the Republic of Senegal attends a major oil and gas event in downtown Cape Town. Organized by Hyve Group Plc., Africa Oil Week is the home of African exploration and this unmissable event will bring together leading energy stakeholders from 3-7 October in Cape Town under the theme: Sustainable Growth in a Low Carbon World.

“We are very pleased that the hon. Aisatu Safi Gladima is present at Africa Petroleum Week,” said Paul Sinclair, Vice President of Energy and Director of Government Relations at Africa Petroleum Week. Her Excellency has served as the Minister of Petroleum and Energy of the Republic of Senegal since 2020 and has held other senior positions in the Senegalese administration, including positions in the Ministry of Mining and Geology and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology. Her Excellency holds a PhD in Hydrogeology and an MSc in Geology and Geophysics and is a former university professor.

President Macky Saul said Senegal has seen more and more international support for the development of gas resources in Africa as part of Africa’s energy transition. At a conference organized by the World Bank last summer, Sol said: “We must welcome the positive evolution of partner countries and institutions for financing gas projects. We are starting to come to our senses on this issue.” Progress has recently been made on the proposed Yakaar-Teranga gas project off the coast of Senegal, with two discoveries containing about 20 trillion cubic feet of gas being arranged to be developed in the country to generate much-needed electricity.

Register your interest now to play your part in the sustainable development of our industry and Africa through African Upstream. Attend the conference with senior delegates and more than 50 ministers and heads of government: Africa Oil Week 2022 (https://Africa-OilWeek.com).
