Hawks in Gauteng are asking for the public’s help in tracking down Sharen Govender, who is believed to have defrauded victims of R18 million in 2021.

It is alleged that Govender posed as a director of personal protective equipment (PPE) company Aurum Line Pty (Ltd), an existing company with which she had no connection.

Using this company, she lured and misled potential investors into investing in her venture and promised high monthly returns on investments that never materialized.

During the investigation, it was found that several cases were registered against Gavender. She is believed to still be in the country, possibly in KwaZulu-Natal.

Hawks spokesman Lloyd Ramowa warned against those who might be hiding her.

“The public is urged to report her whereabouts to Captain Henny Pretorius on 079 886 3555. Any information received will be held in the strictest confidence. The one who shelters her will be accused of complicity after the fact and of violation of justice,” says Ramovga.
