It’s a sentiment often expressed on social media: “I would vote for Imtiaz Suliman as president.”

The founder of Gift of the Givers (GOTG) has been hailed as a hero for quietly continuing his work to help South Africans in need, along with people in other parts of the world.

Dr. Suliman started from his home back in 1992 with a feeding schedule; GOTG is now the largest African-based disaster relief NGO on the continent.

GOTG is partnering with crowdfunding platform BackaBuddy to celebrate 30 years of service to humanity.

Dr Suliman says they call on humanity “to make a difference, restore dignity and give hope to those who need it most”.

“We will serve all people; of all races, of all religions, of all colors, of all classes, of all cultures…of every geographical location and of every political affiliation.’

“We will serve them unconditionally, expecting nothing in return.”
