Ford of Europe and 27 other companies have joined the appeal to the European Union (EU) to ensure that all new cars and vans in Europe from 2035 have no emissions, and set mandatory targets for charging infrastructure.

Ford is in the process of launching the Transit van electric line across Europe. It also sells an electric car model and plans seven BEV model lines by 2024.

The EU is currently deciding on new rules for clean cars following a proposal from the EU Commission – backed by companies that apply – that from 2035 only new zero-emission cars and minibuses will be sold across the EU. The European Parliament and EU governments will recognize their position in June, and the final law is expected to be passed in the autumn.
