A Limpopo funeral parlor is in shock following an incident where five women were gang-raped and other staff were assaulted during a business robbery on the premises.

Police say a group of six armed suspects broke into an undertaker’s building in Leparong village near Lebawaggom on Saturday night, gang-raped the victims and assaulted others.

Visani Funeral Home manager Rodney Maddick says three of the victims are still in hospital in a serious condition, while the others have been treated and released.

“They attacked our staff, brutally raped them, although they are recovering, but you can imagine what happened. No one can ever expect this and they are still shocked, angry, and also as management we are angry, what kind of people are they who can treat any person with such brutality. Yes, it’s shocking and very disturbing.”
