Eight major routes are expected to be affected by the planned march in the city of Tshwane this morning, Tuesday 16 August.
MAIN ROUTES TO BE TRAVELED TODAY
The Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) has issued a warning to motorists.
“Please note that the Tshwane Bahlali Dudula march will take place on 16 August 2022. The goal: to sign a memorandum of agreement with Ford Motor Company, after which they will march to the N4 Gateway Industrial Park to hand over a memorandum to the center’s management regarding the employment of illegal foreign nationals,” TMPD said.

“The marchers will gather from 09:00 at Solomon Mahlangu Square in Mamelodi.”

The route of the procession is as follows:
From Solomon Mahlangu Square they will join J Ledwaba Street and turn left onto Maphalla Street and join Waltloo Road and turn left onto Simon Vermooten Road, left onto Alwyn Street and continue straight until they reach Ford Motor Company at Samcor Park.
From Ford Motor Company at Samkor Park they will join Propshaft Road and turn left onto Vonkprop Road, left onto Bronkhorspruit Road and right onto Mokwa Street to reach the N4 Gateway, Industrial Park.
The following intersections will be affected:
- Ya Ledvaba street
- Mafala Street
- Simon Vermuten Road
- Waltloo Road
- Alwyn Road
- Wonkprop road
- Bronharspruit Road
- Mokva Street
TMPD says they are expected to disperse from Ford Motor Company at 11:00 a.m. and at the N4 Gateway Industrial Park at 1:00 p.m.
“Tshwane Metro Police officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets.”

Motorists are advised to avoid damaged streets and use alternative routes such as:
- Stormwall Road
- Shabangu Avenue
- Border crossing
- Customs avenue
- Solomon Mahlangu Drive
