Chippa United caused another early-season upset in the DSTV Premier League when they beat favorites Orlando Pirates 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
This is Chippa’s first win of the season after three matches. Pirates, who suffered their first home defeat of the season, have just four points from three matches.
Chippa, on the other hand, is still in the bottom half of the magazine despite a hard-fought win. The home team dominated throughout the match, but could not find the back of the net.
In the 70th minute, Eva Nga, who came on as a substitute, missed the seat. Thabang Manare then also missed a similar scoring opportunity two minutes later.
There was drama with just five minutes remaining when Chippa broke the deadlock from a set piece through Tanzania’s Abdi Banda. The Pirates settled into the opposition half in search of an equaliser, but Chippa stood firm.
