CAPE TOWN – Police in the Western Cape are investigating a murder case after the head of a child was found in Brackenfell, Cape Town.

The discovery was made by members of the community who then alerted the police on Saturday night.

Police spokesman Wesley Twigg says detectives are investigating.

“Brackenfell Police opened an investigation following the discovery of the child’s head on Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.”

Police urged anyone with information to come forward.

This is the third incident related to child crimes in the region in recent days.

Fifteen-year-old Akila Schroeder was killed last Tuesday after being hit by a stray bullet while she was walking to the store.

Meanwhile, 13-year-old Danica Stevens is in the hospital after being struck by a stray bullet on Friday.

There were no arrests.
